The Pope wished success to the future pan-Orthodox Council, which will be held in Crete in June 2016.

The head of the Roman Catholic Church declared that will send a “welcome message” to the participants of the pan-Orthodox Council, and will also be “spiritually present” for him, reported the Agency TASS on Friday, February 19. Following the meeting, Patriarch Kirill and Pope Francis signed a Declaration on the protection of Christians worldwide, especially in those Arab countries where they are repressed.
