It is time to reconsider the approach to banks.
The National Bank believe that the “vacation credit” we need to reconsider due to the tightening of quarantine and the accumulation of imbalances in the banking system.
This was stated by acting head of the NBU Ekaterina Rozhkova.
“At first we supported the “vacation credit”, however, the country has moved to adaptive quarantine, many restrictions were lifted – it’s time to reconsider the approach and to banks,” she said.
Rozhkov also noted that not all debtors who have benefited from the “vacation credit”, equally affected by the crisis caused by the pandemic, and not all of the deteriorated solvency.
In addition, the acting head of NBU added that at the same time, banks continue to pay on deposits and thus banks are washed away liquid money because of administrative regulation.
