Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko believes that Belarus remained the only ally of Russia in the current geopolitical situation. A fragment of his speech showed on 28 June, the TV channel “Belarus 1”.
“The only ally that remained in Russia, Belarus. And I often [Russian President Vladimir] Putin talking about it: I understand you, you can’t lose to Belarus. I understand that the fight to keep Belarus, neither can you. Why? Because began the process of squeezing Russia out of the very marginal markets — the EU and Ukraine”, — he said.
According to Lukashenko, Russia does not want to lose Belarus either politically or economically, because that is the second after Germany’s largest buyer of the Russian oil and recycles a huge amount of it.
