“Innovative” Ukrainian tank prepared for the tests

"Инновационный" украинский танк подготовили к испытаниям

The creators of the Ukrainian “innovation tank” “Azovets” announced the beginning of the testing machine. This was reported on the website of a regiment of national guard of Ukraine “Azov”.

“Tankers “Azov” is ready to work with the experimental armored “Azovets”. The car is really unique and created in the first place, to fight in the city. This is what awaits us, if we are going to return to the East”, — stated in the message.

As noted by the creators of the tank, the machine concept for urban combat was developed by the Germans during the Second world war. They also expressed the hope that “Azovets” due to the possibility of lesions of the upper floors of houses would be effective in battle. “This machine can work direct support of our tanks. We will destroy their targets, and the “Azovets” will back us up,” explained the creators.

“Azovets” was first presented to the Minister of internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov in November 2015. The machine is equipped with two paired aircraft guns, anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM), and the “unique protection that allows it to resist almost all known munitions provided to destroy armored vehicles”. Two weapon stations provide operators with a sector 180 degrees.

The development of the Ukrainian military after the presentation was appreciated by the Deputy Chairman of Russian government Dmitry Rogozin, who oversees, in particular, the state-guaranteed defence order and military-technical cooperation. “The military-industrial complex of Ukraine have produced an innovative new tank out of dumpsters,” — wrote Deputy Prime Minister on Twitter.
