The number of officially registered unemployed in Russia for the year increased by 1.6%. Relevant data published on the website of the Ministry of labour and social protection.

According to weekly monitoring of the Ministry, from 10 to 17 February 2016 the number of unemployed amounted to 1 million 46 thousand 611 people (according to 3 February 2016 — 1 million 29 thousand 795 people).

The most significant growth in the number of unemployed registered in Sevastopol, the republics of Buryatia, Northern Ossetia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Kabardino-Balkaria and Chuvash, as well as in the Krasnodar region, Sakhalin region, Nenets Autonomous district and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous district.

Since the beginning of 2015 in Russia has grown steadily the number of unemployed. In March 2015 the number of unemployed citizens registered in employment service offices, has exceeded 1 million and amounted to 1 145 million people. Then the dynamics of growth has slowed, and subsequent weekly increment was about 0.1%.
