In Rome died composer Ennio Morricone. As reports Ansa, he on the night of July 6, died in the hospital. The cause of death was the consequences of a bad fall. He was 91.
In the hospital he received a few days ago with a broken hip.
The funeral of the composer will be held in private, declared his family.
He died at dawn, surrounded by wife and children, preserving to the last moment of clarity of mind and self-esteem, the report said.
Ennio Morricone born 10 November 1928 in Rome. He graduated from the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in three classes – pipes, instrumentation and composition.
To write music for the cinema and making arrangements it started only after 33 years. During his life he wrote the music for over 400 films and TV series, and more than a hundred classic works. He is the author of music to films “Once in America”, “Professional”, “the untouchables”, “the Good, the bad and the ugly”, “Django unchained”, “Disgusting eight”, and many others.
Morricone has received two “Oscars” – for the music to “Disgusting eight” and for his contribution to cinema. Three times he became a laureate of the “Golden globe” six times – a BAFTA award winner, nine time national film award of Italy’s “David di Donatello”.
