X Factor: What happened to Cher Lloyd? She’s BACK with huge comeback news
The star took part on the ITV talent show during its most-watched season, back in 2010 – competing with the likes of Rebecca Ferguson, One Direction and winner Matt Cardle.
Now she has released her first official single in four years, and her first sign of new music in two.
The 25-year-old’s new bop None Of My Business has been unveiled via Polydor and Universal Music.
Already it has gone down incredibly well with her fans.
“oh WOAHH the years of wait was WORTH IT!! None of My Business is THAT song,” wrote one on Twitter.
“It’s none of my business @CherLloyd but this tune is amazing,” quipped another. “well worth the wait.”
“I’m so proud of you!!! None of my business is my new fav song @CherLloyd,” beamed another.
Lloyd had great success during her time signed to Simon Cowell’s Syco label, on both sides of the Atlantic.
Her debut single Swagger Jagger was a UK chart-topper; while Want U Back was certified double platinum in the USA.
Second album Sorry I’m Late did not hit the same commercial heights as her debut Sticks + Stones era, but earned stronger reviews – and despite missing the Top 40, its lead single Sirens was hailed at the time as her best yet.
In 2014 she also collaborated with Demi Lovato on the international hit Really Don’t Care.
Lloyd briefly returned in 2016 with the teaser song Activated, but has otherwise been away from the spotlight.
During that time the star became a first-time mother; something she spoke about on Loose Women yesterday.
“It was the most amazing moment of my life,” she said of the arrival of little Delilah-Rae in May of this year.
“I just feel like when you see the baby, you see her and you think, ‘I’m gonna love you forever’.”
None of My Business by Cher Lloyd is out now.
