The reformed group comprises Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Markus Feehily and Shane Filan – with McFadden having left back in 2004. Westlife disbanded in 2012 but are back with a new song called Hello My Love. Co-written by Ed Sheeran with producer Steve Mac, it has proven very popular with the quartet’s fanbase and has been selling strongly since its release yesterday.

Indicating that there are no hard feelings, McFadden posted on Twitter about the track yesterday.

“Love it! Great song great production. The boys are back!” he said.

Speaking to Express.co.uk back in 2017, McFadden had made clear that he wouldn’t be involved in any plans to mark Westlife’s 20th anniversary – which was last year.

“I don’t know what they’re gonna do, there’s no talks of the five of us doing anything,” he said at the time.

“There might be talks for the four of them doing something; I don’t know what they’re doing.”

Westlife are also doing a tour, The 20 Tour, which will kick off this May around the UK and Ireland.

Demand for tickets proved to be huge, and the group will play two dates at the almighty Croke Park Stadium in Dublin, as well as five at Belfast’s SSE Arena and three at London’s O2 Arena.

Filan recently said of McFadden: “He left the band 15 years ago, we were only five years in and kids at the time.

“We went on to become a band for another eight or nine years after that.

“It would be very weird to have another person in the band again, some of us haven’t seen Brian in a very long time.

“We haven’t fallen out with Brian either. It’s like we all went to a different school and he went another way.

“Brian left a long time ago so we’re moving forward not backwards.”
