Star Wars 8: NEW lightsaber colour revealed – But is it for Luke, Snoke or Knights of Ren?

The world is awash with a sudden tidal wave of new Last Jedi information.

The cast and director Rian Johnson have been appearing everywhere in print and on screen, leaking out tiny tidbits of information.

One new magazine feature just revealed that Johnson is planning to introduce a new lightsaber colour to the movie franchise. Does he mean Luke will weild a new white pure Force kyber crystal, or will Snoke unveil a terrifying black blade? What about an ancient gold, which ties in with the Whills (and, don’t you know, Snoke’s robes)?

Let’s not also forget the Knights of Ren who are expected to make a dramatic big screen entry.

Us Sunday newpaper magazine Parade, has just revealed Johnson’s cryptic comments in a feature on the famous Star Wars weapons called Lightsaber 101.

It confirms that Rey will use a blue blade and Kylo Ren will continue with red.

Then it adds: “Director Johnson hints that we may see a new hue.”

Many fans were expecting Luke to resume using his old green lightsaber, but what if his new studies into the Lights and Dark mean he now needs a blade which resonates with both sides?

This could mean a pure white blade, which is the kyber crystal’s neutral natural colour, before it changes to reflect whoever has bonded with it. Ahsoka Tano had a white blade in the histories.

Equally stunning would be Snoke pulling out a black lightsaber, although it has been reported that with his black kyber crystal ring to channel the Force, he does not need a blade.

Many fans now believe that Snoke could be a fallen Whill. An ancient, semi-divine Force being. In previous imagery they are associated with gold and a fancy glowing gold blade woudl go rather nicely with his lavish robes…

One fan also suggested an intriguing alternative if Rey eventually builds her own blade at the end of the movie after encountering both Luke and Snoke.

They said: “We’ve seen promos like the character posters and some product leaks where Luke has his old blue saber. That The Last Jedi cup was that leaked had Luke wielding it ignited. If anything, I think Rey builds her own saber (since that is a requirement in pretty much any side of the Force) and I would say it’s white because of the whole balance deal (like Ahsoka) this makes way more sense to me than Luke having a new saber.”

Star wars Youtube channel Mike Zeroh has his own ideas. He says: “For me I believe it all points to Luke Skywalker. Unless the Knights of Ren themselves have a brand new type of lightsaber.”

However, it is most likley that the Knights, being Dark Side wielders, would have traditional red blades.

Another fan points out that one of the original merchandise toys had Luke with a different colour already: “Luke ignites a Yellow lightsaber like the one in original Kenner toy figure.”

All will be revealed in just a few days…
