Michael Bublé DENIES he’s retiring from music ‘I’ll keep going until I die’
Having had two years off to spend time with his family, Bublé is getting ready to release his 10th studio album Love next month.
However, the newspaper reported he said: “This is my last interview. I’m retiring from the business. I’ve made the perfect record and now I can leave at the very top.”
But now the 43-year-old is denying he’s retiring, stating he will keep going until he dies and calling The Mail’s article “negative energy.”
Speaking with Sky News, he said: “I’m not retiring anytime soon. I’ll keep going until the news of my death comes out, which will probably be fake too.
“At that point, you’re really famous now. Things are really going well on this record.
He joked about the afterlife: “Bublé is hanging with Elvis. … Bublé and Elvis having fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches together.”
The singer said he learnt about his supposed retirement from texts sent by his friends, to which he replied: “Consider the source.”
He continued: “And that was about enough for them to go ‘oh yeah, I should’ve considered the source’.
“And part of me – and a weird part – part of me thinks, gosh I still matter enough for them to tell bulls*** stories about me. I wonder what’s next?”
Speaking with The Mail about his new album, Bublé said: “Now I’m just singing the music I love. Maybe when you let go, maybe that’s when it comes back to you. Like love.
“There are three reasons I wanted to do this album: One, because I felt a debt of gratitude, deeper than I can explain, to the millions of people all over the world who prayed for us and showed us compassion. That gave me faith in humanity.”
He added: “Two, because I love music and feel I can continue the legacy of my idols.
“And three, because if the world was ending – not just my own personal hell but watching the political turmoil in America and watching Europe break up – there’s never a better time for music.”
Michael Buble’s new album Love will be released on November 16.
