Hugh Jackman on Greatest Showman TOUR: When is Hugh Jackman tour, how to get tickets
Hugh Jackman will delight musical fans around the globe when he goes on tour with his new show titled The Man, The Music, The Show. The tour will feature four dates in the UK, including Manchester, Birmingham and London. And Hugh will also travel aroundEurope and America, bringing fans another glimpse of his spectacular voice.
The Greatest Showman has broken box office records and music chart records.
The soundtrack spent more time at UK number one than any record in the last 30 years, including Adele’s 21 and it remains in the UK album top five nearly a year after its release.
The production will kick off next year with 12 shows in Europe and the United Kingdom on May 19 and 24 shows in North America beginning on July 18.
European shows include dates in Paris and Hamburg, while the US tour takes in cities including Detroit, Los Angeles and New York.
Jackman will also perform in Toronto, Canada.
The X-Men star was nominated for an Oscar for his performance as Jean Valjean in the 2012 movie version of the musical Les Misérables.
And he won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of P.T Barnum in The Greatest Showman.
Barnum is an American who founded the Barnum and Bailey circus in 1871 and managed to pull himself out of poverty to become a self-made millionaire.
The actor showed off his singing skills in the film and went through 10 weeks of rehearsals for the dancing numbers.
Jackman told Variety: “Vocally, sometimes you have those ‘I can do anything’ days, and the next day you’re at 80% so on those days when you’re feeling great, we would just pop over to the studio and record.
“There’s a couple of bits where I sing notes that I’ve never sung.”
The Man, The Music, the Show is Jackman’s first world tour.
The show will be accompanied by a live orchestra.
Jackman will play the following UK dates:
- Manchester Arena – Friday, May 24 2019
- Birmingham Resorts World Arena – Monday, May 27, 2019
- London, The O2 – Sunday, June 2 and Monday, June 3 2019
