UK Prime Minister Theresa May, 61, wrapped up warm this afternoon to watch her ally President Macron host the One Planet climate summit’s international leaders conference today.

Held at the Elysee Palace in Paris, PM May looked thrilled to – perhaps stoked by a successful start to the Brexit negotiations last week.

Similarly, French First Lady Brigitte Macron, 64, was wrapped up warm for the event in a black scarf and coat.

Brigitte looked on as her husband welcomed world leaders and distinguished business people including Prince Albert II and Michael Bloomberg.

Emmanuel Macron is hosting the One Planet climate summit, which gathers world leaders, philanthropists and other committed private individuals to discuss climate change.

Brigitte cracked a smile through her layers, looking stylish in a maroon double breasted jacket.

Her blonde hair looked blow-dried to perfection and she wore a thick slick of eyeliner.

The Amiens-born former teacher beamed as she watched her husband performing his duties.

As the French President welcomed Theresa May, the pair appeared to enjoy a joke.

Theresa smiled and laughed with the French leader as they shook hands.

Eastbourne-lass May wrapped up it the seasonably cold weather wearing a blue jacket and a bright red scarf.

She opted for a thick layer of pink lipstick, contrasting with the scarf, and heavy eyeliner.

Mr Macron is hoping to market France as a global leader for climate change research and renewable energy technology after President Donald Trump announced his intention to withdraw from the landmark accord.

As part of his environmental agenda, Mr Macron’s government says it wants to put France “at the cornerstone in the global mobilisation of all energies to fight global warming”.

And to help achieve this, it has even set up a website to make it easier for American climate scientists to apply to live and work in France
